Boy band One Direction has launched the action/1D manifesto as part of action/2015, a coalition of 1600 organisations calling on world leaders to 'make the right decisions for all of our futures' at key summits later this year.

In a YouTube video, the band explains that fans should upload creative content such as photographs and videos to describe the sort of world they want to live in using the hashtag #action1d, commenting 'Young people really do have the power to help end poverty, tackle inequality and to stop dangerous climate change. Now is the time for us to unite, take action and raise our voices to show that we care about the future of our planet'.
